Germany/Austria/Italy/Switzerland

1st Day: Departure U.S.A.

2nd Day: Arrival in Munich.
We arrive in Munich in the morning and transfer directly to our hotel. The afternoon will be open. Tonight we will enjoy Bavarian “Gemütlichkeit“ at a Bavarian evening. (D)

3rd Day: Munich - Oberammergau
After a sightseeing tour of Munich, we travel to Oberammergau, where we spend the next two evenings. (B, D)

4th Day: Oberammergau
(Performance Day)

The highlight of our tour takes place today as we attend the performance of the world famous Oberammergau Passion Play. (B, L, D)

5th Day: Oberammergau - Vienna
We depart Oberammergau and travel through the Bavarian countryside to Salzburg. Then we continue through the Lake District of Austria, the “Salzkammergut”, to Vienna. (B, L)

6th Day: Vienna
Our sightseeing of Vienna includes the famous Ringstrasse lined by the Opera House, the Hofburg, Town Hall, Parliament, the Burgtheater, and many more famous sights. One of the highlights will be a visit to the heart of Vienna, or St. Stephen's Cathedral, affectionately named 'Steffl' by the Viennese. We will also see Schönbrunn Palace. In the evening we join the natives in one of the quaint restaurants of Grinzing, Nussdorf or Sievering, drink some home-grown wines and sing some Viennese songs. (B, D)

7th Day: Vienna to Venice
Travelling south through the Styrian and Carinthian districts of Austria, we cross into Italy, through Villach. Then we continue via Udine to Venice. (B, L)

 

8th Day: Venice
The sightseeing of Venice includes St.Mark's Basilica, the Doge Palace, the church of Santa Maria della Salute, Bridge of Sighs and more. You can feed the pigeons on St.Mark's Square and watch a glassblower create magnificent glass objects. (B)

9th Day: Venice - Florence
Today we travel via Padua and the district of Emila Romana to Florence. (B)

10th Day: Florence
The sightseeing tour of this unique city will include such treasures as the Cathedral of Florence, the Baptistery with the 'Gates of Paradise' by Ghiberti, Giotto's Bell Tower and the Church of Santa Croce. In addition, we will visit the Uffizi Galleries, one of the world's outstanding art collections. (B)

11th Day: Florence - Milan
Along the "autostrada" we travel via Bologna to the historic city of Milan. (B)

12th Day: Milan - Lucerne
Via Como and Chiasso we travel north into Switzerland, passing through Bellinzona and the St.Gotthard, proceeding along the famous Axenstrasse to Lucerne. (B, D)

13th Day: Lucerne
Weather permitting we ascend to the top of the majestic Mt. Pilatus (optional). Balance of the day is at leisure. (B)

14th Day: Lucerne - Munich
After breakfast we depart Lucerne for Munich travelling via Zurich, St.Gallen and Lindau. (B, D)

15th Day: Departure Munich - Arrival U.S.A.
After our exciting and picturesque trip, we board our plane for home. (B)
